Adoptable Animals

Open Your Heart and Home to a Laboratory Survivor

At Beagle Freedom Project, we are the world’s leading organization dedicated to rescuing animals used in experimental research. The majority of our animals are survivors who come from laboratory research and are looking for loving forever homes.

These survivors have often experienced traumatic pasts and may require an abundance of patience and compassion from their adopters. They might initially exhibit anxiety, fearfulness, and have no prior training.

With the right support, these incredible animals often blossom into the most loving, loyal, and joyous companions! By opening your heart and home, you can make a profound difference in the life of a survivor.

The Adoption Process

Our adoption process is designed to ensure the best possible match for both you and our rescued animals.

1. The process begins with your application In our adoption application, we ask you to provide as much detail as possible about your home, lifestyle, and any other animals you may have.

2. Our team will review your application: If we believe you might be a perfect match for one of our available animals, a member of our Rescue Team will contact you.

3. Our thorough onboarding process: This includes a phone interview, virtual home check, and reference checks to help us find the ideal companion for you.

4. Foster-to-adopt trial: We believe the best way to ensure a perfect fit is through our foster-to-adopt program, allowing you and your potential new family member time to get to know each other in your home before finalizing the adoption. This is particularly important for animals who may be shy after their experiences.

Can’t Find the Perfect Companion or Planning to Adopt in the Future?

Even if you don’t see a featured animal that captures your heart right now, or if you are planning to adopt in the future, we encourage you to take the first step and submit your adoption application.

Important Considerations:

Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.

We require adopters to be cruelty-free or willing to become cruelty-free, meaning you do not purchase products tested on animals (with the exception of pharmaceutical drugs). Embracing a cruelty-free lifestyle is a powerful way to support our mission.

We hope you will embrace your adopted animal’s role as a Beagle Freedom Project ambassador by sharing their story and helping to educate others about animal testing.

Animals Not Featured Online?

Due to the sensitive nature of rescues from animal testing laboratories, some animals rescued by Beagle Freedom Project may not be featured online.

If you are interested in and want to be considered for one of these survivors, please complete the adoption application.

Once your application is submitted, a Rescue Team member will review it. We will contact you when these survivors become available and if the Rescue Team feels you may be a perfect adoption match.
