We were asked to help and jumped at the chance to rescue these severely neglected dogs from a hoarding situation. While Beagle Freedom Project specializes in rescuing animals from animal testing, we also help rescue animals from other forms of unique cruelty, like neglect so severe that it rises to the level of abuse.

We had 48 hours to swoop in and get these dogs out of the living hell they had been subjected to for years:

Sweet Star, 11-year-old mother to newborns – Flea & parasite infected, severe skin issues due to the infestation, worn down teeth from chewing on the metal crate she lived in outside in the smoldering heat. 3 of her puppies passed away before we got there…. 4 survived and are in our loving care now and thriving with mom.

Beautiful Birdie – 14 year old sweetheart who looked as if she had a tumor so large we worried about what it was and if it could be treated. It interferes with her walking and ability to go to the bathroom. Her skin is so bad from flea infestation she is missing her fur and her skin is inflamed and infected. Almost all of her teeth or rotted and she has several roots exposed causing extreme pain. But, there is hope! After a lengthy veterinary visit, it has been confirmed this “tumor” is actually a hernia that is full of her intestines but is operable!

We are awaiting blood work so we can hopefully move forward with the surgery as well as dental surgery and get her all fixed up. She deserves the best rest of her life as possible and with your help, we can give it to her!
